In modern age, can you imagine that a lawyer can become a physicist? I think It’s impossible to change the profession from lawyer to physicist. I don’t intend to demean lawyer as a profession bro...lawyer is great profession but having skill in both profession as lawyer and physicist is amazing, hehe. That’s Amedeo Avogadro, what i mean...
Initially, Avogadro is a successfull lawyer. But then, not in a long time, Avogadro was falling in love with physics. And do you know what? This is what I don’t believe it, after studying physics deeply; finally he became professor of physics in Royal College Vercelli.
He conducted research in 1811. The research was all about gas. Avogadro created hypothesis that ‘in the same pressure, volume, and temperature, all gas have the same amount of particle”. But unfortunately at that time, his hypothesis was not accepted by almost scientists. 4 years later after his death, Stanislao Cannizzaro from Italy, an expert in chemistry, finally could explain avogadro’s hypothesis so that his hypothesis became law of Avogadro that was accepted in vast science community.
The interesting statement from Avogadro’s law:
Any gases in 1 atmosphere, volume 22.5 liters, and temperatures 273 Kelvin have the number of molecules in the amount of 6.02 X 10^23. What is this number mean? This number is called Avogadro constant or 1 mole. Just imagine, if we state that in this box, there is 1 mole O2, that’s mean inside the box have 6.02 X 10^23 oxygen molecules, have weight as 32 gram.
We can learn from this story that we should never give up if our opinions have been rejected by people.
It could be 4 years later; our opinion will be a reference that will always be followed by everyone so that finally we will be famous due to our opinion that initially rejected by most of our community.
